Pocket is a USDG allowance on Robinhood Chain that can only be spent on the Stock Tokens its giver allows, up to a weekly limit. Every buy goes to the holder's own wallet.
Opening a pocket
The giver sets the holder's address, a weekly limit in USDG, the allowed Stock Tokens (any of the 27), whether cash may come out, and an optional first deposit. The holder can't be the giver's own address. Anyone can top up an open pocket later.
The weekly limit
The first week starts when the pocket opens; each week lasts 7 days. Buys and cash outs both count against the limit. Unspent limit doesn't roll over, but the USDG stays in the pocket for next week.
Buying
- The holder picks an allowed stock and an amount of at least 1 USDG.
- The contract swaps through the token's Uniswap v3 pool (two hops through WETH for COIN, MSTR and SPY) and sends the stock to the holder.
- The minimum out is set on chain from the Chainlink price minus 1.5%. If the pool is further away, the buy reverts and nothing is spent.
Cash out
Off by default. When the giver turns it on, the holder can take USDG to their wallet within the same weekly limit.
Giver control
Only the giver can change the weekly limit, the allowed stocks and the cash setting, take USDG back, or close the pocket (which returns all remaining USDG). The giver can't take back stocks the holder already bought.
Fees and the token
- 0.3% of each buy goes to the treasury, capped at 1% in the contract. Cash outs, deposits and withdrawals are free apart from gas.
- No fee when the giver holds at least 50,000 $PCKT (set in the contract once the token is live).
What the owner can do
- List Stock Tokens and their routes, and change the price source, the router and the slippage limit (at most 5%).
- Set the fee (at most 1%), the treasury and the token perk.
- Nothing else: no function moves USDG out of a pocket except the giver's own take and the holder's own buys and cash outs.
Risks
- The contract is not audited. It has unit tests and a test buying NVDA and COIN on the real pools on a fork of mainnet.
- Stock Tokens move with the stock; a pocket that buys can lose value like any purchase.
- Thin or stale pools make buys revert until the price comes back in line.
- Prices come from a Chainlink price contract that rejects prices older than 3.5 days, so buys may pause over long market closures.
